The book kept me guessing. I eager to understand.
Well that was quite different from your book with Lexi and friends. I see it's a series of three books. I'm thinking of reading the other two but not sure as yet. Tho I think it is interesting.
This was good, although fire is terrifying. I recommend you read all 3 and in order.
This book touches on the Salem Witch Trials and the execution of innocent men and women accused of witchcraft. Most of them were innocent. It also is a love story 100 years after the Witch Trials and the search for lost siblings. Enjoyable!!
Read this in almost one go. It is obviously well researched and one can almost smell the sea air and fish! Loved the characters and the customs of the times that they were constrained by. You can feel the mystery revolving around Bridget beginning to unfold and by the end of the book you wonder what the other two sisters will be like!
Ms. Moffett leads you into the lives and times of Salem in a way you almost feel
you are there. The premise is unusual and you feel her need to keep her secret
from others. She is being practically forced into what you know will be a loveless
marriage but is faced with a distraction when an old friend returns from the sea!
What ensues is at times amusing, at times poignant, and the suspense continues
to build throughout the story. If this is only the beginning of the trilogy I can hardly
wait to read the others!
I am a big fan of Julie Moffett and her Lexi Carmichael series, which is why I tried this one. I read all three books but I think she could have put the whole story in one book.
