Chronicle of Destiny The Chronicle Series Book 1 edition by SJ Garrett Romance eBooks

Genocide. So marks the history of the Chronicle race. The populous Magi erased their more powerful cousins from the face of Lucksphere one thousand years ago, and any Chronicles discovered in the time since are murdered on sight.

Dominic Whisperer is a Fury.
He has lived three centuries waiting for the day he will die. A Fury always feels the birth of their Chronicle, and they always feel their death. A Fury whose Chronicle dies will suffer endlessly until put out of their misery. Twenty years ago, Dominic put his affairs in order and prepared for that day.
It didn't come.
Now Tariah and Dominic will have to fight for their right to live, and to do it, they might have to save the very world that wants them dead.
Chronicle of Destiny The Chronicle Series Book 1 edition by SJ Garrett Romance eBooks
A love story wrapped in the history of fantasized cultures fighting for their clans to be able to survive. All the young heroes here are smart and attractive but must deal with self-doubt and distractions and roadblocks along their paths. While the settings on the various island continents are described well, I found myself wondering early on if 'Dragoon' was a typo for 'Dragon' and wished for the explanation to be given sooner. At various points, main characters Tariah and Morgan, two Chronicles, finally meet and forge their lifetime alliances with the other halves of their beings, Dominic and Jazz of the Dragons/Furies. The ups and downs of these four lives mirror the difficulties in settling political and cultural differences between the few remaining Chronicles and the Magi and Dragons/Furies. The elite Black Magi want to control the world and rid it of the perceived threat from the Chronicles and Dragons. The importance of the mental and physical relationships of each pair points up their dependence on each other, especially as major battles loom on the horizon. Any subsequent novels in this series likely will not need to be as sexually explicit about their relationships.Product details

Chronicle of Destiny The Chronicle Series Book 1 edition by SJ Garrett Romance eBooks Reviews
I walked into this story expecting a romance and instead found an epic adventure on a world just as real as yours and mine. The attention to detail made Lucksphere come alive for me, and in a way this little planet is truly the main character of the book. Ms. Jean has a way of telling a story, and right from the very beginning I had goosebumps as she described her world and the people living in it. I readily recommend this book to anybody who likes Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Romance, or any combination of the three genres.
As a lover of fantasy and science fiction, I was excited to pick up this new series by Etta Jean. I found the Lucksphere world to be unique and fully realized with a cast of characters that I quickly became interested in learning more about. With a deft hand and creative eye, Etta Jean gives us a story and world that captures the imagination and keeps a reader turning the pages. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a highly satisfying fantasy, sci-fi read with a bit of romance and intrigue thrown in for good measure. It was a pleasure to read and I look forward to picking up the next Chronicle book!
I love fantasy stories because they are not the world I actually see everyday. So nice to lose yourself in a fantasy!
Tariah is a great snarky character that I would love to meet irl, and Dominic...well let's just say hot dragon! And I don't mean hot because he is has fire magic! Their travels and discoveries as they try to save their world was worth the late nights (couldn't put it down!)
Chronicle is a fantastic book with a wonderful tale of lovers, magic, evil conquered, etc. It is definitely a book for fantasy lovers. My only complaint is that now I have to wait until the next book is released to find out what happens next.
Worth every penny and I recommend this book to any fantasy and/or romance reader out there.
Lucksphere, a mysterious world of magic and power, is within your reach. It is a blend of sexy romance and adventure for Tariah who must discover whom she is in a world that wants to destroy her. Armed with only rumors and determination, she challenges not only the customs of her own world, but those of the feelings in her heart. Though sexy romance is not my preferred reading, I still felt it was worth the five stars; Etta Jean has created an engaging world and guides the reader through it.
I'm in no way surprised that I enjoyed this book. I couldn't help to continue reading, despite having chores to do. Ha! The book encompasses fairies, elves, magi, and my favorite - Dragons!! Just a tiny bit of romance in this one, for those who prefer minimal amounts, but still one heck of an action packed love story. Highly recommended!
Eta Jean brings an interesting concept--fantasy characters of different races who are mated pairs from birth, but don't know each other--to life in a sexy whirlwind, a race almost from the first page. The heroine is a member of a hated subculture, one with great powers, and because of this, her kind has been hunted and killed for years. She escapes the party hunting her and disappears into the world on a quest that will not only save her, but bring her to her true love, if she can recognize him. The mating is a hot one, and Tariah and her Fury experience love in many forms. The story did wind about a bit, but Etta Jean always managed to get the plot back into focus as conflicts escalated between her hero, heroine and the evils chasing them.
I loved Chronicle of Destiny. Without spoilers it's hard going into detail, but the journey taken by Tariah is a magnificent one. Chronicles are special Magi (the humans of the world, with magic) that are usually killed upon the time they gain tattoos. Their births are rare, and Tariah gains hers upon entering first puberty. That's right, Magi have both first and second puberty. Her parents refuse to kill her and she's eventually found out, forcing her to leave her home. She must make a journey to find the Isle of Dragons to find her mate. Along the way is intrigue, fighting, and romance. It's a great read.
